The Barnabas Connection is committed to providing Emergency Preparedness Education to all residents in the Wimberley Valley. In October of 2021 Barnabas formed the Wimberley Valley Emergency Preparedness Team in order to have a coordinated effort of key stakeholders. The groups that make up this Team represent First Responders, FBC and CCC ( churches directly involved in sheltering and feeding during a community crisis), Wimberley Valley Rangers, KWVH, The WISD, and The City of Wimberley.
The Wimberley Valley Emergency Preparedness Team meets monthly to prepare for and develop plans for community response to crisis situations and public health threats ranging from natural disasters, disease outbreaks, to deliberate acts of terrorism.
Barnabas maintains ongoing working relationships with and coordinates with first responders, nonprofits, and public health agencies in our community and in neighboring jurisdictions and other government agencies. These groups participate in our meetings as needed and are part of our after action meetings when applicable to their agencies.
